The first book in our All About Authors blog is My Happy Ears, written by our very own NaTyshca Pickett.
As a teacher, NaTyshca knew the importance of inclusion in her classroom when it came to her students. When she became a mother of a special needs child, the need for inclusion grew stronger. "My Happy Ears was created to bring awareness to hearing loss and how it affects everyone. I have found that there are not many books representing individuals with special needs and I am a believer of being the change I want to see. My hope for this book is to start a conversation in homes, classrooms and our communities and to shine awareness on not just children and adults with hearing loss, but other unique attributes in the community of individuals with disabilities. My Happy Ears is the first series of the My Happy Ears and More collection that I have started. These books will be a series of children books about individuals with special needs."
