Author in the Spotlight - Anya Stassiy

Meet Anya Stassiy, a hard-working mom and published author, showing that no matter what your obstacles are, if you follow your dreams, they will come true!

Thank you for interviewing with Top Wire: All About Authors. We know that your time is valuable and we appreciate you taking the time to share your journey.

TW: What is your writing process?
AS: It is very unstructured. I have 3 kids. I work part-time. Some of my writing is done during nap times and extracurricular activities. I also don’t like to outline my storyline. I do have have a beginning and the end in my head, but fill in the details once my fingers hit the keyboard.

TW: How difficult was it to write your story?
AS: I put the story aside for a year and a half. It was about halfway finished at that point. It was a slump that was difficult, that I had to overcome, but once I did, I finished it in 2 months.

TW: What are your hopes for this project?
AS: Of course, I want for people other than my friends and family members to read it. I feel strongly about the story, about the message. I think it has a very positive message.

TW: Do have plans of writing more books?
AS: I do. I am about half way done in one. Have an idea for another and about 10,000 words written on the 3d.

TW: What is your favorite genre of books and do you plan on venturing in those areas?
AS: I don’t have one. I’m a voracious and non-discriminatory reader.

TW: What do you want readers to know about you?
AS: I am just a mom, who sneaked time for myself to write.

TW: Do you have a favorite author or book?
AS: I don’t. I can never settle on one of anything. I always have a bunch, a few, and several favorite authors, movies, colors, etc.

TW: What does literary success look like to you?
AS: When people tell me that my writing made them cry and they recommend my book to their friends.

TW: What is the most difficult part of your artistic process?
AS: Finding time and space suitable for the process.

TW: How has this book changed your life?
AS: No. I still work as a physician assistant. I come home to feed my hungry kids, do homework with them, grocery shop and do laundry.

TW: What advice do you have for an aspiring writer?
AS: Keep writing. Finish that chapter, then write another, then finish the book

TW: Do you have any future events or updates we should know about?
AS: June 12th at 6.30 I will be doing a book signing and talk at The Book House in Millburn, NJ.

TW: How can we contact you and purchase your book?
AS: Amazon link

Our next Author in the Spotlight is Sharika K. Forde, author of The Awakening! T W : W h at  is your writing process?  SKF : I have two different styles of writing.
